When it comes to DFW, travelers have a choice on how to move between terminals. Although, unless holding a ticket, the Airtrans system is off limit as it is housed inside security gates. Although, as the DFW airport service shuttle buses run every few minutes, there are two options for ticket holders.
Most often, those needing to travel between gates use the airtrans system which are a series of driverless trains serving different terminal stops. Whereas, those accompanying travelers to or from flights often use these shuttle buses. Now that the buses also serve the area light rail system, more people are using these shuttles than ever before.
As a result, locals and tourists now take these trains on a regular basis. The new rail lines have also increased the number of people finding work. For, while there was no way to travel between these areas without a car in the past, all now service different transit centers and locations. For example, the train to Fort Worth makes only a few stops, one being that of the Intermodal Transit center which houses Amtrak, Greyhound and city buses. Whereas, the other line focuses on downtown Big-D with stops in the Arts and shopping districts, ending at the downtown Amtrak station.
While most hotels reside outside the DFW complex, there are two which operate in or near the terminals. The Grand Hyatt which is located inside a terminal, and the Hyatt Regency which sits just outside another. These are often the two most booked hotels in the area as each provide a different level of convenience.
Within the gates, Airtrans, a driverless train, carries travelers between gates in a short amount of time. Although, as the security area at some gates does not open as early as some flights depart, it is often necessary to take one of the external shuttle buses when needing to make an early flight.
As the light rail system is fairly new, these options have made DFW much easier to transverse both inside and outside the complex. In addition, many locals now have access to jobs which were unreachable in the past. As such, the development of this great new transit system has also help reduce the unemployment rate while also easing some traffic concerns in the area.

While there is now also bus service to Arlington, , service to the area is still quite limited. Although, when wising to to attend events, visit Six Flags or having other needs in the area, people have found that taking the bus to the city, spending the night, and returning the next day can be far less expensive and stressful than renting a car and driving in traffic to do so.

As such, individuals can choose from close-in, long-term or remote parking options. As with most facilities, when parking close-up, it is important to adhere to all parking warning signs to avoid fees, fines or tows.
